Toronto’s Electric Island announces venue change for 2019 season finaleElectric Island 1

Toronto’s Electric Island series is characteristically known for their long-established home on the Toronto Islands. Known for their signature day-into-night outdoor parties on the island, the seasonal event series has faced an imminent challenge threatening their home base.

Leading into their final event of the season, Electric Island has announced their move to Ontario Place’s West Island, a convenient replacement for the long weekend festivities. Keeping in line with their trademark island atmosphere, the new venue offers an improved landscape for the festival infrastructure.

Throughout the summer, the Toronto Island has been affected by record high water levels, causing flooding in certain areas of the land and a temporary suspension of the ferry service to the island’s main beach area, Hanlan’s Point.

The 2019 season so far has seen stunning performances from artists like Bedouin, Hot Since 82 and Seth Troxler during their first three events throughout the summer. The season finale held over the August 31-September 1 weekend brings highly anticipated bookings to the city, including the debut of masked German headliner, Boris Brejcha and the return of Dirtybird kingpin Claude Vonstroke

Costa Rica’s Envision Festival has announced the musical lineup for 2019, and it’s clear from their bookings the festival plans refine even the purest form of “Pura Vida.”

Since its inception nine years ago, the ocean-adjacent jungle paradise has steadily upped its game. By creating stages and structures inspired by and made in the local Tico way and hosting a reforesting program which has planted more than 12,000 trees in the past seven years, Envision has constantly challenged the status quo, both in relation to music and community. Through hard work and positivity, the festival has built a committed fan base. It’s clear the organizers have no plans on letting them down.

The music and arts festival’s tide is set to draw in some of the most eclectic underground and hard-hitting acts from around the globe. San Francisco’s Tycho will serve silky sweet psychedelic ambiance. Denver’s GRiZ will be Chasing the Golden Hour, Hawaii’s troubadour Trevor Hall will surely serenade many back tent-side, and as the sun goes down and the stars come out, the music and the loving won’t come to a halt.

Envision plans to deliver the sounds of Burning Man, with Robot Heart and All Day I Dream leader Lee Burridge alongside latin house master Nicola Cruz. A fan favorite and France’s greatest export of bass blasting tunes CloZee will be making her fourth appearance tucked under the jungle shade of Uvita. This is truly a festival with a focused intention: to educate, entertain, and awaken higher consciousness all in an organic fashion. Join the natural harmony, flame spinning, ocean waves, and incredible music from February 28 to March 3 — even the howler monkeys will be getting down.

Day Zero, the magical jungle-fest headed by London-born DJ Damian Lazarus, has finally announced its sixth installment slated for 2019. Ever since he created the festival in 2012, the label boss has managed to make it an annual event that celebrates the spirit of Mayan culture with some killer electronic music.

On its fifth birthday, Lazarus teamed up with Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte to create an otherworldly experience, featuring techno beats from Brooklyn-based duo Bedouin, fellow Crosstown Rebels signee Mathew Jonson, and more.

Day Zero will return to the jungle on Jan. 11, 2019 in Dos Ojos (Tulum), Mexico. Tickets of Trust will go on sale starting September 5, with GA tickets dropping shortly after the lineup announcement.
