Bassnectar has revealed the first cut from his newly announced Reflective Part 3 EP, “Heavyweight Sound.” Featuring grime spits from the UK-bred rapper RD and production work from Jantsen, the new collaboration’s antsy vocals build into a sustained half-timed bass break with that signature Bassnectar grittiness. Fans were treated to a recent live preview at Electric Forest, reveling in Bassnectar’s newest material ahead of the EP’s official release.

The new EP lands on Bassnectar’s own Amorphous Music imprint, including work from Vindata, a track from Ashton’s Naux Faux side project, a remix of Rusko‘s “High”, and a VIP remix of Bassnectar’s own 2007 hit, “FSOSF.” Last year, the heavy bass deity released Reflective Part 1 and 2, featuring a crop of talent from the low end of the spectrum with contributions from G Jones, EpromSayr, Digital Ethos, and Dorfex Bos. If Reflective Part 3‘s predecessors were any indications of what to expect, bassheads should should be well on their toes for the EP’s August 24 release date.
